Childhood Obesity
As I am sure you can tell that I have chose childhood obestiy for my topic. I am very passionate about helping families understand what leads and causes childhood obesity and what later affects it can have on a person. I am also very interested in proper nutriton and diets for children, and activity levels for them. There are not many people that know how nutrition and children diets affect there ability to learn and focus. These are all subjects that parents and children need to be educated on. There are many resources for childhood obesity, child nutrition, and nutrition in general. Ms. Obama is also very passionate about this topic and has created websites like Let's move, and also has been a huge advocate for children and families. I feel that I will have a very easy time finding resources, information, and research on childhood obesity, children's nutrition, and proper diets. What do you think?

Overweight and obesity in children are significant public health problems in the United States. The causes of childhood obesity are multi-factorial. Overweight in children and adolescents are generally caused by a lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns resulting in excess energy intake, or a combination of the two. Genetics and social factors - socio-economic status, race/ethnicity, media and marketing, and the physical environment also influence energy consumption and expenditure. Most factors of overweight and obesity do not work in isolation and solely targeting one factor may not make a significant impact on the growing problem.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is good to go.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking off doing it on childhood obesity too but I would like to see if what causes it such as social economics status or it is just environmental too. I have been looking up research and that sometimes plays a part but medical reasons do factor in why children are overweight. F.Y.I if you’re looking for research Kendall library is a good resources too.
ReplyDeleteHello Tracy. I too am looking to do my research paper on childhood obesity. The reason being is that it frustrate me when my students walk into my classroom eating donuts and cookies for breakfast and parents see that not effecting how their day is going to be.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great topic and a well needed advocacy plan. Proper nutrition is key in this topic as well as getting the children active. You need to research Michelle Obamas advocacy plan. She is wanting to make school lunches better and getting the children to eat healthier also. For example, Iknow one thing she is pushing is that children drink more water.
